The need for an international independent investigations mission on the
violations taking place in Sudan.
18 January 2019
Since the 19th of December 2018,
Sudanese people have been taking the streets bravely in the face of the brutal
militarily and security apparatus of the ruling National Congress Party in
Sudan. These violations included the use of live ammunition that led to the
death of several tens of peaceful civilians, documented attacks on hospitals
and medical facilities, arbitrary detention of hundreds of Sudanese citizens,
raids of citizens houses in addition to excessive use of tear gas bombs and
many other violations.
The Sudanese government continues to deny the use of unjustified force against
peaceful protesters, causalities treated by doctors confirm these serious
injuries head, neck , chest with the intention of “shoot to kill”. Documented
videos, photos, and verbal statements confirms these crimes .
We are writing this open letter to stress the urgent need for an international
and independent investigation mission, that reveals the extent of the crimes
committed against the Sudanese people who demand nothing but their basic rights
of Freedom, Peace and Justice.
We, in the Sudanese Professionals Association, finds it our moral and patriotic
duty to call for all sorts of protection to our fellow citizens.
We will continue to pursue and
achieve our rights for democratic change peacefully standing together an one
nation against the collapsing regime in Sudan.
